changes.
well…the weather is slowly warming up, which means we get to sweat a little in the warehouse.
a little sweat never hurt anyone, right?
some other cool stuff is going down, too. Ashlee, our boss’ oldest little girl turns 4 on Wednesday!
Seasons are changing, which means DANCE FOR CHRIST, BASEBALL, TEEBALL, & SOFTBALL…here we come! soon after that is VBS and mission trips. though it’s always the busiest time of the year, we really enjoy it. never a dull moment.
we’ve been pretty slack at writing lately, and we do apologize. with busyness in the shop some things fall to the waste side…and unfortunately…blogging is one of them. we try to at least update facebook frequently so you can always check there to see what we are up to.
if you live in goldboro, be sure to check out the goldsboro news argus today. screen it is featured on the front page with reporter, laura collins doing her column.
thanks for being such great friends and fans of our business.
you guys rock!
Encouragement.
Today we got this really encouraging email from a customer and it made us extremely happy. What a great way to start off the week. Hope you don’t mind us sharing it with you!
“I am writing this email on behalf of all of us at Brogden Primary School to thank Screen It for the amazing THING t-shirts you helped create for the Wayne County Chamber Spelling Bee last week.
Our shirts were a big hit– we never could’ve done it without you! Thanks for working with us and helping us get them done at such an affordable price and in such a short amount of time. We will definitely put the word out there that Screen It is the place to go!
Our team won the spirit award at the Spelling Bee with a prize of a $500 grant for our school!
I’ve attached a picture of the “THINGS” at the Spelling Bee. Thanks again for all you did!” —-Mrs. Jessica Pollard, Brogden Primary School, 1st Grade Teacher

We’re Slack & Need Your Help
There. We said it. We are really slack at blogging.
But, the more I think about it, we never promised that we’d be great at it. After all, we can’t be awesome at everything. We’re so busy printing shirts that at the end of the day….blogging doesn’t seem so important. (Even though it really is….so we can communicate with you, our amazing customer.)
With all that wordage in mind, I’ve decided to leave our blogging in your hands.
For the rest of September and the entire month of October we are gonna try something new. We want you guys to feel like you know us…like best buds. Our company’s blog for the next month & a half is gonna be a place where we can share our hearts with you, our life, our pet peeves, our favorite stores, favorite shirt color, favorite website, favorite songs, favorite recipes, you ask it….we’ll do our very best to answer it.
They can be very broad questions, or more specific. ((But please, keep it clean. Any inappropriate posts will be reported.))
We’re hoping that these next few weeks will be super exciting and will be a way for you to get a peek inside the journey of life we are on and the story we’re just a tiny part of.
Looking forward to sharing life with you guys.
Happy Questioning.

PS- Be sure to check out our facebook for our newest “Pink” special. We’re celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Buy one of our special pieces of pink apparel and we’ll give a donation to support cancer research.
We’re super excited about it.
“well…that was random.”
this week has been, well….quite frankly, random as all get out. we’ve accomplished a lot of things & have had a lot of cool things happen. so, in keeping with the randomness of things going on….this post is most likely to be quite scatterbrained and random to keep the theme of the blog in unison as to not confuse anyone.
hehe. thats the screen it way, baby.
-we got a new 8 color 8 station press. wes was so excited about the 101 degree heat as you can tell by the picture.
he was even more excited about putting all the million pieces together. anyways, its put together and functioning super well. its amazing how much faster orders get through on an 8 station versus a 6 or 4 station.
-today, Nikki, our used-to-be quiet, soft-spoken designer who stayed in her shell revealed to us that she could do the moonwalk. so in honor of MJ himself, she busted out into dance in the shop. too bad i didn’t get a video of that.
-in other cool random stuff, Matt Hart from Coker Memorial Church stopped by today. he brought all of us HOT FUDGE SUNDAES from McDonalds. it was pretty legit…so thanks Matt!!!
-we have RE-RE-RE designed the office area / break area. having wes around has been nice…not only do we get the additional laughs and randomness that comes with his personality, but we get his creative juices that spill out upon us everyday. he’s completely re-done the entry area & the design team’s office space. HE EVEN ADDED SOME PERSONALITY TO THE ATTIC SPACE. yeah…he rocks.
-we have two INCREDIBLE new employees. Will has joined the team as our multipurpose man. He is a master at cleaning screens (or slides as he would like to call them). He also cuts grass, takes out trash, cleans bathrooms, plays really great music on his ipod, and loads his truck down with UPS boxes for us. Will=a true servant at heart & a great addition to our team. Kamille is our BEAUTIFUL office, phone-answering lady. She can be found wearing skinny jeans that look like leggings while drinking water out of her CamelBak and flip-folding shirts of all colors, brands, and sizes. She keeps us organized…or at least tries her hardest. They say that the creative people are among the least organized…..and so far so good.
- earlier in the month, we had a FANTASTIC time at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Business EXPO in Goldsboro. we had the most legit booth in the building and handed out a PLETHORA of cool screen it goods-candy, pens, catalogs, paper, tshirts, water bottles, & magnets. crazy huh? take a look…

-i suppose that is quite enough randomness for one night. only a few hours til’ vacation for a few of us. keep in mind our production warehouse will be closed June 29-July 3 for our annual summer break. Only our design center will be open from 9 am – 4 pm. Please make sure you keep this in mind when collecting and placing orders. Sorry for any inconvenience & thanks for understanding our need for a summer break as well.
enjoy the random thoughts from the mind of screen it & please, please, please keep us posted on your exciting lives as well.
peace out….the message matters.
the screen it gang.

You guys rock,
BS & the Screen It Gang.
In the Beginning….
They say great things take time…and time is what it has taken for us to finally enter the technologically advanced world of setting up our own blog, twitter, and our legit new website. When we first decided we would start a blog, the first question asked by everyone was, “Well, what exactly are you guys gonna blog about? Screenprinting? Emulsion?” I quickly responded with, “Good question, but I’m sure we will come up with something important to say.”
So now, I’m here pondering what is truly important & worthy of the first blog. Here goes: A mission statement is a brief statement of the purpose of a company, organization, or group. It gives direction and unites the company. Without a mission statement, would there be a purpose for existence? No. There would be no drive or ambition to get anything done because there would be no goals to achieve or passion to drive the company. With that in mind, I thought nothing could be more important than posting our mission statement as our very first ‘blogging experience”.
At Screen it, we desire to portray your passion in a real and effective way by creating relevant designs that make you stand above the rest. By settling for nothing less than excellence, we broadcast a story much larger than our own. After all, the message matters.
Now that you know where we, as a company are headed, our hope is that you will check back with us frequently and see what’s going on in our lives and around the screen-printing shop. Oh, and if you’re down for a little more cool-ness, our new site just launched: www.themessagematters.net. It makes us smile, and we hope you’ll do the same.

Until next time…the Message Matters,
Brittani
